Meet Our Pastor-Elect

 

Reverend Earl N. Jarrell, Jr. was raised in Brunswick County and a 1988 graduate of Brunswick High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, served in the Gulf War and was on active and reserve duty for 14 years.  It was while stationed in Germany that he received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

After much prayer, he accepted his call to ministry and was ordained in 2000. Reverend Jarrell is currently a student at Berean Light Bible Institute and has spent the past 26 years ministering God’s word through discipleship, youth programs, community involvement and delivering the preached Word.   

​

Since October of 2018, Revered Jarrell served as interim Pastor for Poplar Mount Baptist Church.  In February of 2021, he was elected as Pastor.  

​

Reverend Jarrell is married to the former Calandra Walker and they have three wonderful children, Brittany, Kendric and Logan; three beautiful grandchildren, Kevyn, Kendric Jr. and Kendall.

On behalf of Reverend Jarrell and the Poplar Mount Baptist Church family, we wish to extend the warmest welcome possible to you to come join us on our journey with Christ, in all faucets of the Church each and every Sunday.  We look forward to worshipping with you and please be sure to bring a friend or family member.  We continuously strive, on a daily basis, to live up to our Church's motto.  Poplar Mount Baptist Church is "A Center of Light, Leading, of Inspiration and Guidance."
